Whether it is one impactful event that completely turns one’s life around, or a series of small episodes. I would like to think that my story is the latter. I admit, I am living a pretty fortunate life. My parents pay for my tuition, I get a sort of set allowance per month to spend on food or whatever I would like, I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the US, and I can take my car for a drive whenever I’d like. Although I am still trying to get through my last couple of years as an undergrad, I have been really thinking about what I could possibly write in my personal statement to DO school. I’m not saying that I envy those who had one impactful (and most of the time either ecstatic joy or.. trauma) event in their life that shaped them.. but it’s hard for me to want to explain all these mini episodes in my life that kind of shaped me to who I am and who I would like to be in the future. I should really be working on my research assignment right now. I guess I’ll give this more thought some other time.
I have also been using the word “conjunction” a lot lately.
I was studying at Perks and this lady was standing next to my table. She was soaking from the rain and was just standing there drinking her tea and eating something. I was kind of zoned out listening to music on my laptop, but I took off my earphones and offered her a seat at my table. She said I was “too kind” and that it was nice to stand because she had been sitting all day. As she left, she thanked me again for the offer. It was nice.
